SAQSAY HUAMAN TREK HALF DAY.
Saqsay Huaman fortress According to chronicler Inca
Garcilazo: was the House of the God Sun Is a group of
immense terrace walls located over a steep hill that
overlooks Cusco, As many of the classic Inca
constructions, each boulder was carefully cut to fit
together tightly without mortar, some of this blocks
weighs over 120 tons, and were moved from far away
quarries. Saqsaywaman Archaeological Park, has 20 more
archaeological remains and is considered the second
marvel of the Incas after Machu Picchu, It was added as
part of the city of Cusco to the UNESCO World heritage
list in 1983.
SAQSAYWAMAN TREK 2 OPTIONS.
1º Option: Only trekking the same itinerary show below,
starts at 6:30 am.
2º Option: Trek and horseback start at 9 am.
Tour to the archaeological park of Saqsay Waman is
walking and horse riding.
The place is just fantastic, not beating path, Pictures
all time.
We star by Horseback to The Temple of Moon, mystic
place into the rock, then to Wayllar Cocha a lagoon
nearby a typical town. Then we walk to Tambo Machay and
Pukapukara Inca fortress, we ride again back to the
ranch, then we can find traditional restaurants to try
our famous Pisco Sour, Ceviche or the classic plate of
Cusco Cuy Chactao, (Guinean pig).
