CUSCO
IMPERIAL CITY
Cusco is the
archaeological capital of South America and historical
capital of Peru, formerly known as Qosqo, or Pachamama
centre was declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1983, is
also called the Rome of America by the great number of
monuments that possesses, is an Andean valley within the
range of the Andes. It population is about 368.000
inhabitants.
Formerly
headquarters of the
Incas government ,Qosqo; was
the most important city
in the Andes
of South America.
This
centralism gave
boom and it
became into the main
cultural center
and axis of
worshiping.
Ruler Pachacuteq Is credited with
having founded
the spiritual
and political center,
Pachacutec got power in
1438, He and
his son
Tupac Yupanqui
devoted five
decades to the settlement
and organization of different tribal
groups under their control,
including Qollas, Jaujas,
and Lupacas.
It’s known that the original design of the city is work
of Pachacutec. Plane of ancient Cuzco city delineates a
puma-shaped, with the central square of Haucaypata that
occupies the animal's chest. The cat's head would be
located on the hill where the fortress of Sacsayhuaman
(rugged head) is. This last is the second wander of the
Incas currently known as the Archaeological park of
Saqsaywaman.
